Pastor Matthew Moore has served as the Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Ministries since December 2013. Prior to coming to Trinity, he served as pastor of Temple Baptist Church in West Tennessee for eight years.
Since becoming Senior Pastor, Pastor Moore has led Trinity through a season of tremendous growth and expansion. What began as a church serving a few hundred people from one location has grown into one church across four campuses throughout the CSRA. Under his leadership, Trinity has expanded beyond its Martinez campus to establish ministries in Grovetown, South Augusta, and Wrens, with hundreds, and at times thousands, of people walking through Trinity’s facilities each week.
Pastor Moore has also led Trinity through extensive growth and renovation across its facilities, helping position each campus to better serve its congregation and surrounding community. His vision has remained focused not simply on expanding facilities, but on creating more opportunities to reach people with the Gospel, strengthen families, and serve communities throughout the CSRA.
Christian education has also remained an important part of Trinity’s ministry. Community Christian Academy became a ministry of Trinity Baptist Ministries in 2016, and Pastor Moore serves as the head of the CCA School Board, helping provide leadership and direction for its continued mission of Christ-centered education. Trinity Baptist Preschool, which has served families since 1982, continues to be an important part of Trinity’s ministry to children and families.
Under Pastor Moore’s leadership, Trinity has maintained a strong commitment to missions both locally and around the world. Trinity currently supports more than 100 missionaries while also participating in local and global missions projects, extending the ministry of the church far beyond its campuses.
Pastor Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Temple University in 2002. A native of North Georgia, he has faithfully served in ministry primarily throughout Tennessee and Georgia.
In 2004, Pastor Moore married his wife, Amanda Ivy. Ivy is a native of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Matthew and Ivy have two children, Madalynn and Alex.
At the heart of Pastor Moore’s ministry is a desire to faithfully serve the Lord and see people come to know Jesus Christ. His passion for reaching the lost, preaching the Word of God, developing strong ministries, and leading Trinity forward continues to shape the mission and future of Trinity Baptist Ministries.

Dr. K.C. Stevens, the Pastor Emeritus of Trinity Baptist Church, was the founding pastor. Throughout his tenure, he experienced numerous achievements, successes, mistakes, and failures, yet his unwavering commitment and faithfulness to the church spanned an impressive 42 years. Dr. Stevens' influence endures in every individual who enters any building or campus where the Trinity Baptist family gathers. His legacy is also perpetuated through Community Christian Academy, where students are taught a strong Biblical worldview as the cornerstone of their education. This legacy shines brightly as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is spread throughout neighborhoods, communities, schools, workplaces, and around the world.
The story of Trinity Baptist Church began with its first service on Sunday, March 5, 1972, in a rented storefront off Columbia Road. The congregation soon moved to their first sanctuary, where the current Martinez Campus Nursery is located, holding its inaugural service on Easter Sunday, April 22, 1973. In the summer of 1975, construction of the current Martinez Campus Sanctuary began, and it was completed in February 1976, with the first service held on Trinity’s fourth anniversary on Sunday, March 7, 1976. Dr. Stevens' remarkable journey and the enduring legacy of Trinity Baptist Church continue to inspire and impact countless lives, both within and beyond the church community. His story is a testament to faith, dedication, and the transformative power of ministry.
Dr. K.C. Stevens passed on January 2, 2019.
